BETHANY CHAMBERLAIN
DIFFERENCE AND REPETITION
11th January 2019
With an interest in the philosophy of existentialism, the clips investigate the anxieties and reassurances of reoccurrence. From the echoed stomp of a foot, to the steady burning of a sheet of paper, the films connote religious or spiritual practise as well as every day routines or actions.
The piece is made up of several clips from one reel of Super 8 film. This is one of the first Super 8 films the artist created, processed and projected herself.
